Table of Contents
Austrian Wine
Austria is not very known for its wine, which is such a shame since it’s really delicious!
Around Vienna, you’ll find several vineyards making both red and white wine. I would recommend buying a bottle of Grüner Veltliner to share with your friends and family – it’s one of the most popular dry white wines in Austria.
Swarovski Crystal – One of the most exclusive Austria souvenirs
Swarovski has been producing crystal in Austria since 1895, and today they have shops all over the country – as well as all over the world!
If you’re looking for a nice gift for your mother, sister, or girlfriend – then this might be your best pick. Swarovski jewelry might not be cheap, but I’m sure it will be a success!
For example; a pair of simple Swarovski earrings cost around 100 euro.

Styrian Pumpkin Seed Oil
Pumpkin seed oil, also known as the black gold of Styria, is one of the most delicious Austria souvenirs.
Like you can hear on the name, it’s an oil pressed from pumpkin seeds. It has a nutty taste and a dark color. It’s really delicious and goes with everything – it’s especially delicious in salads.
At the supermarkets, you can buy a bottle of Styrian pumpkin seed oil for around 4 euros.
Christmas Ornaments – One of my favorite Austria souvenirs
One of my favorite Austria souvenirs is local Christmas ornaments. When traveling, it’s something magical about collecting these beautiful souvenirs. Because every time you’ll put up your Christmas tree, you’ll be reminded of all the trips you’ve made in the past.
When visiting Austria during Christmas you must visit the local Christmas markets and check out their ornaments. There are so many beautiful things to buy at the Christmas markets in Austria!

Austrian Glass
Want to buy something nice for your home? Then go visit the famous Austrian store Lobmeyr.
This family-run company is famous for its glass drinkware, lamps, and chandeliers. They’re also famous for producing the first electric chandelier in 1883.
For the best selection, make sure to visit their flagship store on Kärntnerstrasse 26 in Vienna.
Local Schnapps
Austrian schnapps is a type of brandy that’s made out of a variety of fruits and herbs. A bottle of schnapps can be bought at the local supermarket or at liquor shops (if you’re looking for a special kind or flavor).
If you want to buy something really unique, then I can recommend buying a bottle of Enzian schnapps.
Enzian is a flower native to the Austrian Alps, and from the root of this flower, they make schnapps. The Enzian flower is the national flower of the country and is strictly protected, so there are just a limited number of bottles made each year.
Finding this type of schnapps in Austria can be a bit tricky. I would recommend you to check out the local liquor shops when traveling around the country, as well as asking the locals if they know where to find it.

Teddy bear with Lederhosen or Dirndl – One of the best Austria souvenirs for children!
Looking for some Austria souvenirs for kids? Then this might be the perfect gift!
A cuddly teddy bear wearing the traditional clothing is a really nice souvenir to buy for the little ones. You can buy a teddy wearing either the Lederhosen (for men) or Dirndl (for women).
Mozartkugel
If you have a sweet tooth or know someone who has a sweet tooth, then this is one of the best Austria souvenirs to buy!
Mozartkugel, also known as Mozart Balls, are delicious chocolates with a marzipan filling. They’re famous for its foil wrapping – featuring Mozart’s face.
You can find a box of Mozartkugel in almost every supermarket around Austria. The red boxes are milk chocolate, and the blue boxes are dark chocolate.

Freywille Jewelry
If Svarowski jewelry is not your thing, then Freywille might be something for you. Freywille has produced enamel jewelry in Austria since 1951 and is famous for its colorful and fun design.
However, they’re a bit pricy. A small bangle can cost between 220-370 euro depending on the design, and their bigger bangles cost around 500 euro.
But if you’re looking for a really special souvenir for a special person – this might be the perfect gift!
Manners Wafers
Here you have another souvenir to add to your shopping list if you love sweets!
The Original Neapolitan Wafers were invented in 1898 and are today one of the most famous and popular sweets in Austria.
These sweets are made of five layers of wafers with hazelnut cocoa cream in between. They’re super delicious, as well as addictive, so make sure to buy a couple of packages before traveling back home.
This is no doubt one of my favorite Austria souvenirs!
