If you’re craving something sweet, then you have to taste the Omnom Chocolate. It’s one of the leading chocolate brands in the country with several delicious and unusual flavors to choose from.
My favorite ones are the chocolate with licorice and sea salt. I can highly recommend trying those flavors.
You can find these chocolate bars in both souvenirs shops and bigger supermarkets in Iceland. It’s also possible to visit the Factory where you can take a guided tour – it’s located in Reykjavik.
Icelandic Alcohol
Many people like to shop local alcoholic beverages when traveling. Iceland is a country where they produce both schnapps, vodka, and beer – so you wont be dissapointed.
I can recommend buying Brennivin (Icelandic schnapps), Einstok beer, or Reyka vodka. The Reyka Vodka is pretty unique since they use fresh glacier water, and filter it through lava.

As a Swede, Licorice is my favorite candy. So guess if were happy when I found Icelandic licorice in the stores and supermarkets in Iceland.
Some people love it, some people hate it. But one thing is for sure, you have to try it and find out whether you like it or not.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of sweet licorice, but the salty licorice is magical! It’s a must-try when you’re in Iceland.
