What are Lightroom Presets?

Presets are photo filters that are designed for the software Adobe Lightroom. Lightroom is a professional photo editing software where you can enhance the colors in your images and get a certain look. It’s used by photographers all over the world to create those magical photos you can see on both Instagram, in magazines and even the images of postcards.

Lightroom gives you unlimited possibilities to enhance or change the colors in your photos after your own taste and style.

These are the presets that I use to edit my own photos, both JPEG images on my phone and RAW images on my desktop. Even though these presets are ”one-click” photo filters, you’ll probably need to adjust the exposure and temperature in the images to match the settings of your camera – which is normal.

Down below you can read more about what’s the difference is between desktop and mobile presets, and what’s the best choice for you.

These presets are designed for Adobe Lightroom Desktop, which means that you use these to edit your RAW photos on your computer. To use Adobe Lightroom Desktop you need to pay a monthly subscription to Adobe.

Desktop Presets are for you who want to step up your photography game and create some outstanding photos. Just make sure to shoot in RAW format on your camera!

If you don’t already have Lightroom, you can download it via the link below:

The Mobile Presets are designed for a free mobile app called Lightroom CC. You don’t need to pay a monthly subscription for this app, it’s totally free to use. These presets will only work on your phone, not desktop.

These presets are a good option if you like to shoot photos with your phone, but want a fresh look before posting on social media. They are very easy to use and give a great look to your JPEG mobile images.

Instagram Presets FAQ

What program do I need to use the presets?

My presets are created for Lightroom Desktop (OSX/Windows) & Lightroom Mobile (iPhone/Android).

Lightroom Mobile is free to use, but to use Adobe Lightroom Desktop you need to pay a monthly subscription to Adobe. Don’t worry, it’s not so expensive, and via the link below you can download it. I use the “Photography Plan”, which gives me access to both Lightroom & Photoshop for only US$ 9.99 a month. It’s very cheap considering what you get!

Which version of Lightroom do I need to use your presets?

The desktop presets work with Lightroom 4, 5, 6, and Lightroom CC, and the mobile presets work with the Lightroom Mobile App.

Are the presets compatible on both Mac & PC?

Yes! My presets works on both Mac & PC.

I don’t shoot RAW photos, will the presets still work?

For the Mobile Presets, you don’t need to shoot in RAW. They’re created so you can edit your mobile JPEG photos in your phone.

But if you’re purchasing the presets for Lightroom Desktop, I always recommend shooting in RAW since the RAW format gives you access to all the data in the photo – which will give you a much better result when editing with my Desktop Instagram Presets.

When will I receive my presets?

You’ll get your presets instant to your email after the payment is completed.

How do I import the presets to Lightroom?

Once you’ve purchased a preset package you’ll receive a guide on how you install them and a zip file with the presets + an editing guide.

If I buy a new computer can I transfer my presets?

As soon as you get your presets it’s a good idea to back them up on an external hard drive (in case something would happen to your computer or phone). Just duplicate the zip folder and drag it into your external hard drive.

Can I use the presets on my Drone/GoPro images?

Yes, you can! Just make sure to shoot in RAW if you’re going to use them for the Desktop Presets.

What is the difference between RAW and JPEG images?

For the desktop presets, I can recommend you to shoot your photos in RAW format. When you shoot in JPEG all the image information is compressed and lost. When you shoot in RAW, the information isn’t compressed which makes it possible to create images of higher quality and possible to correct problems while editing. My best tip is to always shoot in RAW!

Why do you call them “Instagram Presets”?

I call them Instagram Presets because I mainly use them for the photos I post on Instagram.

What happens if I don’t like the presets?

Since it’s a digital product, the presets can’t be returned. Therefore I cannot issue refunds.
