When Alex and I were on our road trip in Italy last month, we found this charming restaurant in one of the five Cinque Terre – in beautiful Manarola. We were just walking around in the village and stumbled upon Nessun Dorma, that’s now one of my favorite restaurants in the world.

If you’re going to Cinque Terre and are looking for excellent and affordable restaurants to visit during your stay, then this article is a must for you to read.

Here’s my review of Nessun Dorma in Manarola, Cinque Terre:

What does Nessun Dorma offer?

Nessun Dorma offers local and fresh dishes for their guests to enjoy. They don’t offer pasta or pizza, but they do serve Italian bruschetta, meat and cheese platters, and healthy salads. In addition to the food, this restaurant also offers delicious drinks (like local wine and Aperol Spritz), and one of the best views in Cinque Terre – a view of the beautiful and colorful village Manarola.

Except serving the guests good food and drinks, Nessun Dorma also teaches people how to make pesto. Become a local for one hour and check in at this place by 11 am to learn more about pesto and how to make your very own pesto with a beautiful sea-view in their garden.

What I had for Lunch:

Alex and I had two different kinds of bruschetta. I had with pesto cream, and Alex ordered the classic one with tomatoes. Both of them were superb, and it was a big portion for the money that we paid. I also had a glass of Aperol Spritz and Alex a glass of local red wine.

It was a delicious meal, and both the Aperol Spritz and wine was delightful. For this party, we only paid around 25 USD, which is a catch if you ask me and have a look at the view.

I have no complaints what so ever about the food and drinks, everything was good and the prices were surprisingly low. I really appreciate when a restaurant doesn’t charge overprices just because they have a beautiful view, so thumbs up for Nessun Dorma!

Staff & Service

The staff was very friendly and attentive and made us feel welcomed. They helped us to choose the perfect bruschetta for our taste buds and was also fast to bring out the drinks and food. They smiled towards the guests, asked if the food was good, and was just professional and service minded.

The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly at this place. Before going here, I thought that this was a finer restaurant with high prices. But oh how I was wrong. Don’t get me wrong, the restaurant is very nice with a fantastic view of Manarola, but it was still very casual and had a relaxing feel to it – which I love! And that the prices were lower than many restaurants in Cinque Terre was very surprising to me, in a good way, and I hope that they keep it that way!

Seating and environment

Nessun Dorma is an outdoor restaurant/lunch place, so the majority of the tables are under the open sky. Some tables are under the restaurant/bar roof, which is good if it would unexpectedly start to rain. The environment overall is very cozy and charming. I love the simplicity in this restaurant and that the main attraction is the view, not the decor or seatings.

Why you should eat here

I have four words for you; food, view, prices, and atmosphere. Those are the reasons why you should eat here. The food and drinks are delicious, the view is one of the best restaurant views that I’ve ever seen, the price is lower than many restaurants in Cinque Terre, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. This place is simply perfect, and I hope that they don’t change a single thing about it!

I couldn’t be more happy about my lunch at Nessun Dorma in Manarola, Cinque Terre. The food is super good, the service is excellent, I loved the outdoor seatings, the view is fantastic, and the prices are some of the best in Cinque Terre.

We only tried two different kinds of bruschetta, but the next time we’re going back (yes it’s going to be a next time for sure!!) we’re going to eat at Nessun Dorma more than one time and try more from their menu.

If you’re looking for a restaurant with an excellent view of one of the five picturesque villages of Cinque Terre, then this is your spot!
