Looking for things to do in Rättvik? Rättvik is a beautiful small town located in Dalarna in Sweden. Here you have historical attractions, swimming spots, nice views and fun activities for the whole family.

Here are some of my best tips of things to do in Rättvik as a tourist:

Shop pottery at Nittsjö Keramik

If you are interested in ceramics then you have to visit Nittsjö Keramik. It’s a pottery with a 100 year old history where you can shop beautiful products, have a look at old historical products and also see how the ceramic is made.

In addition, there’s also a nice café next door where you can have a cup of coffee and eat some delicious Swedish desserts.

Watch a concert at Dalhalla

Dalhalla is one of the most beautiful and powerful outdoor arenas in Europe and is a place to visit at least once in your life.

This arena is built in a former limestone quarry, in the middle of the forest outside of Rättvik. From June to September every year you can enjoy concerts and performances in Dalhalla, which is something you do not want to miss.

When it comes to things to do in Rättvik, Dalhalla is a must!

Enjoy the view from Vidablick

If you appreciate a beautiful view then you have to visit Vidablick. It’s a 28 meter high tower located at the top of Hedsåsberget, 352 meters above the sea level.

The tower dates back to the 19th century and is a beautiful and historical place in the city. Next to the tower there is also a nice café and a mini golf course.

Visit the church in Rättvik

The church in Rättvik has parts dating back to the 15th century, but it got its present form during the 18th century. It’s a medieval church where you can have a look at the inside to see the beautiful murals and fine details.

If you’re interested in historical and religious buildings, then it’s a must to visit the church in Rättvik.

Have fun at the summer toboggan

A fun activity in Rättvik is the summer toboggan, which is fun for both adults and kids. The summer toboggan invites you to an adventure of fun and speed during the summer, as well as nice views and many laughs.

Most people are not satisfied with only one ride down the toboggan, but want to try it several times to learn how to ride it faster.

You need one ticket per person and ride. 1-4 tickets cost SEK 60 each, 5-8 tickets cost SEK 55 each, 10 tickets cost SEK 50 each, and 20 tickets cost SEK 45 each. The more tickets you buy, the better discount you’ll get.

The summer toboggan is no doubt one of the best things to do in Rättvik with children!

Go on a day trip to Styggforsen

Styggforsen is a nature reserve located north of Rättvik. Here you’ll find Styggforsen waterfall with a fall height of 36 meters, as well as a magical spruce forest and steep cliffs.

From the parking there is a 750 meter long footpath that takes you around the reserve.

Visit “springkällan”

In 1860, a company drilled for oil at Draggåns strand. They found no oil, but found water under pressure instead. Since then the water has sprouted from this place all year round, which has made it one of the most popular attractions in Rättvik.

It’s a natural fountain in the middle of the forest that you find just beyond the horse race track, about 7 km from Rättvik. During the winter, the water freezes into beautiful ice formations, which is also worth visiting for during the winter in Rättvik.

See the church boat Sörbyggarn

The church boat in Rättvik is located at Enåbron and is a place where you can learn more about the history of the church boat. This boat dates back to the 1950s and is a memorial of the Viking era and what transport looked like in the past

It’s a cool boat, so I can highly recommend to visit during your stay in the city.

Visit Rättviks Tunnbrödsbageri och Handelsbod

Traditional soft thin bread can be bought from Rättviks Tunnbrödsbageri och Handelsbod. Here they bake thin bread every day which is so tasty and flavorful. It’s a traditional Swedish bread that you have to taste during your stay in the city.

If you are interested in food then it’s a must to taste the bread at Rättvik’s Tunnbrödsbageri och Handelsbod – it’s no doubt one of the best things to do in Rättvik!

Take a walk along Långbryggan

This jetty is 628 meters long and is said to be the world’s longest lake jetty. It’s a popular place to take a walk and it’s also a famous landmark in the city.

Along the jetty there are several spots where you can sit down to relax, rest your legs, and enjoy the view.
