Stroll around at the market in Marsaxlokk
Marsaxlokk is a charmig small fishing village that’s located around 40-60 minutes by bus (#81 or #85) from Valletta. It’s famous for it’s Sunday market that’s held every week and for its cozy restaurants that serve delicious dishes with fish and seafood.
Along the harbor you’ll see several traditional Luzzu boats that are painted in beautiful colors and with the protective eye symbol.
Marsaxlokk is no doubt one of the most charming villages on the island, and is a must to add to your bucket list of things to do in Malta.

Visit Gozo
Gozo is the second biggest island in Malta and is a scenic island that’s 16 km long and 8 km wide. Here you can go hiking, snorkeling, sunbathing, biking, and visiting the islands various attractions.
The easiest way to reach Gozo is via the ferries departing from Cirkewwa to Mgarr in Gozo. If you like to be out in nature and hike, it’s a must to visit this beautiful island.

Visit the old capital Mdina
Mdina is the old capital of the island and is today one of Malta’s major attractions. If you are interested in culture and history then you’re going to love this town.
Here you will find several picturesque streets that are lined with beautiful old buildings. Some attractions that you have to stop by include; Mdina Craft Village, St Paul’s Grotto, Roman Villa, Mdina Dungeons, St Paul’s Cathedral, Mdina Castle, and St Paul’s Catacombs.

Go swimming and snorkeling in the Blue Lagoon
Located on the island of Comino, Blue Lagoon is one of the most popular spots for swimming and snorkeling. If you enjoy being out in the sun, splashing around in the water, and snorkeling in crystal clear water then you’re love the Blue Lagoon.
The easiest way to get to Blue Lagoon is by ferry. But you can also rent a private boat for the day if you want to take your time and decide when you want to come and go.

Explore Valletta
Malta’s capital Valletta may be small in size, but is actually filled with lots of beautiful places, interesting history, two shopping streets and cozy restaurants and cafes.
It is also from this town that you can hop on buses that will take you to other destinations on the island. A visit to Valetta is no doubt one of the best things to do in Malta.

Visit Grand Master’s Palace
This used to be a palace where royals lived, but is today a museum that’s open to the public. The Grand Master’s Palace is located in Valletta and is a must to visit if you are interested in culture and history.
Here you can see a beautiful garden, a collection of old weapons, beautiful paintings, statues, and much more. When you are in Valletta it is a must to visit this attraction.

Go to Comino
Comino is a small island located between the island of Gozo and Malta. The island is best known for its blue lagoon, however, it has more to offer its visitors.
This island is a paradise for divers, snorkelers, windsurfers and for those who enjoy hiking. The island is free of traffic and have beautiful nature.
As you stroll around the island you will feel the scent of thyme and other herbs growing wild in nature. It’s a real paradise!

Relax at Golden Bay
This golden sandy beach is located on the northwestern part of the island. Golden Bay is one of Malta’s best beaches and is popular among both families, youngsters, and senior citizens.
You can easily get there by bus #44 from Valletta or bus #225 from Sliema / St. Julian’s.

Have fun at Popeye Village
In Anchor Bay you’ll find the movie set of the 1980s musical Popeye. Today it’s one of the biggest attractions on the island, especially among families.
Here you have several fun activities for both adults and kids. You can meet the characters, be a part of the movie recording, hop on a boat, eat food, play mini golf, and much more.
A visit to the Popeye village is one of the best things to do in Malta with kids!

See the beautiful Blue Grotto
This is an attraction that you have to see while you’re in Malta. Blue Grotto attracts around 100.000 visitors each year since it’s such a popular place for diving and snorkeling.
Blue Grotto consists of an arch that stretches 30 meters above the sea, and additional 6 other beautiful caves. Honeymoon Cave, Cat’s Cave, and Reflection Cave are some of the most popular to visit.

Go diving and explore shipwrecks
Malta is a great destination if you like to swim, snorkel and dive. Around the island you’ll find several military shipwrecks that goes back to the Second World War that are possible to explore.
Some of the most popular shipwrecks include; HMS Stubborn, Blenheim Bomber, Karwela, Um El Faroud, P29 Minesweeper och HMS Maori.

See the beautiful Azure Window – Does not exist anymore
Azure Window was one of Maltas biggest attractions. It’s was beautiful natural attraction with a a cliff that looked like a natural window surrounded by crystal clear waters.
This attraction doesn’t exist anymore since it collapsed from a powerful storm. Even though it’s not there anymore, I still recommend you to visit since it’s such a beautiful place where you can go swimming and snorkeling in the natural pool.
It’s also a popular place for those who like to dive. Under the sea you can see the collapsed part from the famous Azure Window.
