Beautiful landscapes, lively cities, and welcoming people are just a few of the reasons to love Mexico. This country is loaded with exciting history, culture, and plenty of things to both see and do for all travelers.

If you’re in doubt to travel to Mexico, then read this list of the top 10 Reasons to Love Mexico!

The amazing people of Mexico

The most of the people that I’ve met has been so friendly, welcoming and helpful in Mexico. You can say that it’s a lot of heart in this country if you are friendly and show the locals the respect that they deserve.

It’s all those small things that make the people of Mexico so friendly and welcoming. They can say hola (hello) and Buenos Dias (good morning) to strangers that are walking by, and you can always see someone giving you a smile here and there. This is one of the biggest reasons to love Mexico.

The safety

Do not believe media when they say that Mexico is too dangerous to visit. There are plenty of places that are safe to visit in Mexico, where the Yucatan Peninsula is one of them. This area has some of the lowest crime rates in Mexico and even lower rates than other popular destinations in the world.

The beautiful language

How can you not love the Spanish language? It sounds so cool and is like music to your ears. Not mentioning the Spanish music – so happy and cheerful! I love it!

Spanish is the primary language that’s spoken in Mexico. Except in the touristy cities and at the famous attractions, English speakers can be hard to find. Before going to Mexico, it can be a good idea to study some of the basics of the Spanish language.

Since I’ve got the ”become fluent in Spanish” up on my Bucket List, I enjoyed practicing my skills in Spanish in Mexico!

The archaeological sites

Among the many reasons to love Mexico, this is one of the best! All over Mexico, you will find several pyramids and cool archaeological sites. One of the most famous sites is Chichén Itzá, which is a home to traditional Mayan temples and buildings. Another one is Tulum, the last city that was built and inhabited by the Mayans.

Delicious Mexican food

Ohh, where should I start? The food, the fresh ingredients, flavors and drinks of Mexico is a heaven for me who love food. There is no question about it; the Mexican food is just delicious.

Tacos, burritos, huevos rancheros, guacamole, paletas, and panuchos are just a few dishes to choose from. Whether you’re looking for spicy food, vegetarian food or even vegan food, there is something for you in different price ranges.

Since I love vegetables and fruit – Mexico is the perfect place, as they always offer fresh produce to low prices.

It’s affordable

The price always depends on what area you’re in, but regardless, you always get great value for your money. If you are traveling on a budget, then you can travel to Mexico for cheap. If you stay in hostels, eat the cheap local food and use the public transportation you can save a lot of money while traveling in Mexico.

If you’re planning to stay longer – then home cooked food and renting an apartment through AirBnB is the best and most affordable choice!

The Beaches

Ahh, the beaches of Mexico is amazing. If you love to spend a day at the beach, you will love it here. Imagine turquoise blue waters, white sandy beaches, and reefs full of colorful fishes and curious sea turtles!

Whether you’re a beach person or not, you are going to love the beaches of Mexico!

The lovely culture

Every time I visit a new country, I’m always interested in learning and observing about the culture. There is such a fascinating blend of traditions in Mexico, where Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and Las Posadas (colorful block parties) is two of them.

I love just to sit at a local café and observe the culture around me!

The warm climate

As a born and raised Swede, I do not like the cold and dark winter months in Sweden. Compared to Sweden, the weather in Mexico is always warm and pleasant – which is one of the best reasons to love Mexico! If you crave for some warmth, sun and vitamin D during the cold & dark winter month back home, then Mexico is the perfect getaway!

Cenotes to explore

One of the most famous attractions in Mexico is the Cenotes. Cenotes are natural sinkholes in the ground filled with fresh and clear water. In those, you can both swim, dive, and snorkel – which is a pretty unique experience!

In the Yucatan, you will find thousands of them waiting for you to explore! If you’re an adventurous person who likes to get wet, then this is one of the biggest reasons to love Mexico.
