When I was searching for affordable accommodation before my stay in Warsaw over New Years 2016/2017, I decided to try a new method. Since I was staying in Warsaw over New Years, the prices were higher than usual.

My boyfriend Alex and I wanted to stay in a nicer hotel for three days, but we didn’t want to pay a fortune either. After some serious searching after hotels, we found the perfect solution – Hotel Novotel near the Airport in Warsaw.

Here’s my review of Hotel Novotel – Warsaw Airport:

Staying at a nice hotel near an airport might not be your first choice when booking a hotel, at least that was what I said to myself when searching for hotels. Most people, including myself, want a hotel that’s located as central as possible because that’s what we think is best.

But what if I say that you can stay at a 4-star hotel, save a lot of money, and get to the central parts of town within just 10 minutes sitting on a bus that stops literally outside your hotel? Yes, it’s true, and it’s more than half the price from what you have to pay for Novotel in central Warsaw.

I had no expectations what so ever from Novotel near Warsaw Airport, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by what I got for the money I paid!

Room standard (Standard Room)

The standard of the room was excellent. You get a big room, good size of the bathroom and everything else you might need during your stay. You can adjust the temperature in your room, which is great if you’re visiting during the cold winter months or warm summer days.

This is what you get when booking a Standard Room:

  • Comfortable beds
  • Comfortable pillows
  • Bathtub/shower (of your choice)
  • TV (with many channels)
  • Mini-bar
  • Couch
  • Free toiletries
  • Desk
  • Air Condition
  • Tea/coffee maker
  • Free water
  • Hair dryer
  • Safe (laptop compatible)
  • Room service (24H)
  • Free WiFi
  • Daily cleaning of the room (optional)

Overall the Standard Room was perfect for us. It offered everything we needed and was very comfortable.

Breakfast & Dinner

The hotel serves good food, both for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, there are options for you who are vegetarian, and also good lunch/dinner options for vegans/vegetarians at the hotel restaurant.

For an additional fee, you get breakfast buffet. At the buffet, there’s an extensive selection of things to both eat and drink. It’s best to be there when they open the breakfast area since everything is hot, fresh and delicious (also applies to other hotels).

What to choose from the breakfast buffet:

  • Sausages
  • Scrambled eggs
  • Beans in tomato sauce
  • Grilled veggies (peppers, onions, zucchini and more)
  • Yogurt (natural & different flavors)
  • Mix of nuts (topping on yogurt)
  • Cold cuts/lunch meat (various kinds of sliced meats and cheeses)
  • Fruit salad (pineapple, melon, apple, grapes and more)
  • Veggies
  • Bread (dark & white – different types)
  • Butter
  • Jam/jelly (different flavors)
  • Honey
  • Juice (pineapple, apple, orange and more)
  • Water
  • Coffee (Americano, cafe latte, macchiato, espresso, and more)
  • Hot chocolate
  • Tea (different kinds of flavors)
  • Pastries/cakes

I haven’t included all the items in this list since it can vary slightly during your stay. But overall I think it was a good breakfast.

Hotel Novotel Warsaw Airport also offers delicious food at their restaurant with everything from Pad Thai with shrimps to vegan burritos and hamburgers. I’ve tried the Pad Thai and also the vegan burrito, and both was excellent. Alex also liked the Pad Thai, but the hamburger was not the best one he’s tasted.

When we arrived at Hotel Novotel Warszawa Airport on New Year’s Eve, we were greeted by friendly staff who gave us a bottle of sparkling wine (because it was New Year’s). They told us everything we needed to know and wished us a lovely stay and Happy New Year.

Every time we asked the staff for information or things about the hotel, they were both polite and helpful. And that they fix transfer for you to the airport, is a great plus!

In our room on the 4th floor, the WiFi connection wasn’t the best. For us who work while traveling, we need reliable WiFi to be completely satisfied. Since we were only staying over New Year’s for three days, we didn’t bother to ask the staff to change to a room with better WiFi connection. But the WiFi worked well in the lobby and the breakfast area, so hopefully, it was only on the fourth floor that had bad luck during those snowy days.

Novotel Hotel – outside the room

Outside your hotel room, you’ll find an outdoor pool, free kids club, spa treatments, a conference center, a restaurant and a bar. Hotel Novotel Warsaw Airport offers everything that you might need during your stay in the capital with a 24H open reception and room service. The hotel decor is stylish and clean, and you always get greeted with a friendly smile!

When booking this hotel, the only thing I was worried about was the location. Just by the name, Hotel Novotel Warszawa Airport, to hear that it lies near the airport. My first thought was that it was going to take a lot of my time getting from the hotel to the city center and that it was going to be noisy to hear airplanes arrive and depart.

Oh man, I was wrong. The location was perfect in my opinion. Located in a quiet area, only 10 minutes away by bus from central Warsaw (the bus stops just outside the hotel), and that you’re close to the airport means that you get some extra beauty sleep before going to the airport the of departure. You even get free shuttle transfer to the Airport when staying at this hotel – which is great if you ask me!

Summary of my stay at Hotel Novotel Warsaw Airport:

Alex and I had a great stay at Hotel Novotel Warsaw Airport. The hotel provides great value for your money with comfortable rooms, easy access to central town, and friendly staff. The food was good as well, and the location near the airport was also a great plus.

I can heartily recommend Hotel Novotel Warsaw Airport for you who are going to visit Warsaw. For this price, you won’t find a better 4-star hotel in town!
