Looking for the best photo spots in New York? New York is one city that has a close place to my heart. Mainly because I’ve got family there, but also because it’s such a cool city with a unique vibe and atmosphere.

There is always something new to see and experience in New York City, as well as cool spots to snap some photos.

Brooklyn Bridge – One of the most famous photo spots in New York

Brooklyn Bridge is probably one of the most famous photo spots in New York. This is a place all tourists go, as well as photographers. It’s quite understandable since it’s from here you get one of the coolest views in the city – the view of Brooklyn Bridge in the foreground, and Manhattan in the background. It’s simply magical!

There are so many photo spots at Brooklyn Bridge, so make sure to take your time to find all cool angles.

If you want to take photos without people, you have to go there at sunrise or be patient and wait out the people that are walking by.

Top of the Rock

Top of the Rock is another popular and famous photo spot in New York where you get some of the best views of the city. Here you get an amazing view over Manhattan with plenty of photo opportunities.

I can recommend going 1-2 hours before sunset. Then you have plenty of time to snap photos when it’s still bright outside, as well as you get to see the beautiful sunset over New York City.

Central Park

It’s a must to stroll around in Central Park when you’re in New York. It’s a nice and relaxed park with beautiful surroundings.

In Central Park, there are several photo spots that are worth checking out. I can recommend visiting the Mall, Gapstow Bridge, Bethesda Terrace & Fountain, Bow Bridge, The Ramble, and the Boathouse.

Staple Street

Staple Street is one of the most photogenic streets in New York City. It’s located in Tribeca and is known for its sky bridge that connects the two buildings.

A fun fact is that the bridge is today a part of a townhouse that’s owned by the fashion designer Zoran Ladicorbic. It’s been out on the market for a while and is listed at 35 million us dollars.

If you’re looking for one of the most photogenic hotels in New York, then this is it. They have beautiful rooms and suites with views over Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline, as well as an amazing rooftop pool with Manhattan views as well.

At the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, you can snap some really unique and cool photos during your stay in New York.

Flatiron Building

One of the most iconic buildings in New York is the Flatiron Building. It’s one of the world’s most famous buildings, as well as one of the most photographed.

Make sure to walk a little bit up Fifth Avenue toward 26th Street to avoid the big crowds, or visit early in the morning.

Pebble Beach – My favorite New York photo spot!

Pebble Beach in Brooklyn is no doubt one of the most beautiful photo spots in New York. Here you can snap photos with the beach in the foreground and the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan in the background.

It’s truly a beautiful place that offers amazing views of New York. A great tip is to be there during sunset for the most magical photos!

Washington Street

One of the most photographed streets in New York City is probably Washinton Street in Dumbo. Here you can take photos of the Washington Bridge with the Manhattan skyline in the background, and the iconic Empire State Building framed perfectly under the bridge.

NOTE: This is one of the most popular photo spots in New York City, so be prepared for crowds. Today this place is super famous among both photographers, instagramers, and travelers – so make sure to go early.

Coney Island

Coney Island is not only a fun place to go photo shooting, but also a fun place to hang out. Here you can go to the beach, to the old amusement park, as well as some nice food places.

One of my favorite photos from this place is at the entrance of the wonder wheel (like you can see in the photo below).

Bethesda Terrace

Inside Central Park, you’ll find the beautiful Bethesda Terrace. The steps at Bethesda Terrace is probably the most popular photo spot, but the view of the fountain is also very popular.

If you want to snap a photo without people you have to be lucky or be there at sunrise. Bad weather also helps, as you can see in my photo below!

Chinatown

Crowded streets, colorful houses, and Chinese street signs – that’s what you’ll find in Chinatown in New York. Chinatown is a popular photo spot in the city among photographers, both during the day and the night.

There are many cool places to shoot photos in Chinatown, so make sure to take your time!

Manhattan Bridge

Manhattan Bridge is one of the lesser known photo spots in New York, and why, I do not know. This place offers some amazing views over both Manhattan and Brooklyn, so make sure to visit if you have time!

A nice photo to take here is through one of the holes in the fence, which makes a quite interesting photo (click on the arrow to the right in the photo to see an example).

Delmonico’s

Delmonico’s is an old restaurant in New York that opened up in 1837. It’s located in a beautiful old building that’s surrounded by more modern and taller buildings, which makes it look really unique and cool.

This is no doubt one of my favorite photo spots in New York City.

Oculus

Oculus is one of the most expensive train stations in the world – it cost around 3.8 million US dollars to build it.

It’s an impressive station with beautiful and unique architecture – which looks really good in photos. Make sure to see Oculus from both the inside and outside.

Gay Street

Gay Street is one of the most picturesque streets in New York. It’s not so famous among tourists, yet, so you don’t have to go super early to get a shot without people.

Here you can shoot some really nice photos of the classic New York houses with its iconic fire escapes. It’s a pretty street that looks great in photos!
