When we visited Japan a while ago, we ended up in Osaka where we stayed at the Ritz Carlton Osaka. A lovely and friendly hotel with delicious food, excellent spa treatments, and a beautiful environment.

Alex and I stayed there for 2 nights before traveling to Kyoto, and we both loved the hotel. Two nights might be a short stay for Osaka, but we had time to experience the best of the hotel and also the best of the city – but I definitely recommend you to stay for at least 5 days to get the full experience.

Down below you can read more about our experience from the Ritz Carlton in Osaka:

Room Standard (Executive Suite with City View)

We stayed on the 21st floor of the Ritz Carlton in one of their Executive Suites with city view. First of all, I have to mention the view, which was absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to that view every morning made our stay in Osaka a bit more magical.

The Executive Suite is a big suite with a bedroom, a living room, two bathrooms and a big closet. The interior was beautiful and we both felt comfortable throughout our whole stay. The suite was equipped with everything that we possibly needed such as; Flatscreen TV, coffee/tea, minibar, free toiletries, robes & slippers and so on.

One thing that I really liked about this suite was the armchair next to the huge windows in the bedroom. It was magical to sit there during sunrise with a cup of tea/coffee while watching the city come alive.

We both were really happy about the suite, and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back and stay there again!

Breakfast

Ritz Carlton Osaka offers two spots for breakfast. You can have breakfast downstairs in the main breakfast area, or if you’re staying in an Executive Suite/Club Suit, you have access to the Executive Lounge where you can have a more private breakfast with an amazing and staggering view of the city.

We had breakfast in the Executive Lounge every day and we loved it. They had a great selection of things to eat – from yogurt and fresh berries to freshly baked bread and different styles of eggs of our own choice. Other than that they also had fresh salad, nuts, sweets, hot food, cold cuts, freshly squeezed juice and much more.

I’m actually very picky when it comes to breakfast since we’re having such a high standard in Sweden. But this hotel really delivered a good and healthy breakfast on my plate. Thumbs up for that!

Outside the room

Outside your hotel room/suite, you’ll find lots of things to experience and do. Around the hotel, they have several restaurants & bars, shops (they even have a chocolate store!!!), a spa, gym and the Executive Lounge.

I can honestly say in this Ritz Carlton Osaka Review that I could have easily spent our 2 days only at the hotel haha – working out, getting pampered at the spa, admiring the views, sleep, and eating good food!

Spa

During our stay, we pampered ourselves with a relaxing massage at the spa. It was a great spa experience, and the staff was very professional and friendly. We felt really comfortable during the treatment, and afterward, we felt super relaxed.

If you ever stay at Ritz Carlton Osaka, I can definitely recommend you to spoil yourself with a massage! It’s worth it.

Dinner

We had dinner at the hotel our first night at their Hanagatami Restaurant which serves Japanese food. We tried the tasting menu, and everything was so good. From the appetizers and the soup to the sushi and sashimi – it was seriously one of the best Japanese meals I’ve ever had.

Staff

The staff at the Ritz Carlton Osaka was really friendly and service minded, and we had a great stay thanks to them. From the reception and the Executive Lounge to the spa and restaurants – all of them were so friendly and made us feel very welcomed, so a big thank you for that Ritz Carlton Osaka!

WiFi

This Ritz Carlton Osaka review cannot be completed without mentioning the WiFi since that’s something that many people want to know before booking their stay. The WiFi worked great throughout the hotel. We tried it in our suite, in the lobby, up in the Executive Lounge, and by the spa – and we had no problems what so ever to stay connected.

Location

The Ritz Carlton Osaka is located in one of the cities most prestigious districts, in Nishi-Umeda. From here it’s easy to grab a taxi or catch the subway to other districts of the city. JR Osaka Station is located only 7 minutes away by foot, and the airport limousine bus lies within walking distance (around 5 minutes walking with luggage).

Summary of our stay

We both had a lovely and relaxing stay at Ritz Carlton Osaka. Our suite was perfect with nice decor, beautiful furniture and most importantly, a comfortable bed! The view from our room wasn’t too bad either, and it was super relaxing to sit in the armchair during sunrise while seeing the whole city come alive.

The food was delicious, our spa treatment was very nice as well, and the staff was friendly and helpful – which I think is important at a hotel.

I can highly recommend you to stay at this beautiful hotel when you’re in Osaka! I’ll for sure come back again.

What other guests say about the Ritz Carlton Osaka on Tripadvisor:

Other guests who have stayed at The Ritz Carlton Osaka has written that they really like the hotel decor and service level. They also like the great selection of restaurants and the proximity to the subway as well as the airport limousine bus. The complaints that I could find was guests who said the decor and hotel were very old fashioned, but I think that’s exactly what’s so charming about The Ritz Carlton Osaka. It’s very elegant, and yes old-fashioned in some ways, but for me, that’s not something negative at all in this case.
