During our second trip in our favorite country, Japan, we decided to finally visit the city of Nara – the city of wild deer. There we stayed at Noborioji Hotel Nara, and we both had a lovely time. From the rooms and service to the food and atmosphere, we loved everything about it.
We stayed 2 nights at the hotel together with Small Luxury Hotels, and down below you can read more about the hotel in my Noborioji Hotel Nara review.

Room Standard (Suite)
We stayed in their suite for 2 nights, and it was very relaxing. It was a spacious and modern suite with everything we needed during our stay. It had a living room with a couch, armchairs, TV, minibar and even a cozy fireplace – which was perfect for the lush setting outside the window. The bedroom was also spacious with a huge comfy bed, desk and a chaise lounge chair by one of the floor-to-ceiling windows. Not forget to mention the bathroom which was spacious as well with a shower, big bathtub, free toiletries and cozy bathrobes.
The suite even had a balcony, where we could get some fresh air in the morning while sipping on our hot cups of coffee.
This is what you get when booking a suite
Comfy Bed with fluffy pillows and soft sheets
Livingroom area with armchair/couch, fireplace, Minibar, and flatscreen TV
Spacious bathroom with both shower and tub
Balcony with view of lush nature
Free & fast WiFi
At Noborioji Hotel Nara they don’t have a breakfast buffet like many other hotels. Instead, they have a breakfast set menu with both continental and Japanese options. We went for the continental breakfast, and it was good. We had fresh fruits, eggs of our choice, coffee/tea, juice, yogurt, salad and more.
I’m not sure how the Japanese version was, but I’m sure it was just as good as the one we had!
Outside the room
Outside your hotel room, you’ll find a lounge by the reception, a restaurant, a bar, a gym and even a spa where you can get pampering spa treatments.
One of the nights we had dinner at the hotel restaurant where they serve French dishes with ingredients evocative of Nara – all to stimulate the diners’ five senses.
We had the set menu with wine pairing, and everything was so good and fresh. I must say that the dishes had really good flavor combinations, and I wasn’t hungry or too full leaving the table. The environment and atmosphere were also nice with live piano music and friendly and service minded staff.
Overall we had a great experience of Noborioji Hotel Nara’s restaurant, and I can highly recommend you to eat here at least once during your stay!
Like I’ve mentioned before, the staff was very friendly and helpful towards us during our stay. They made sure that we felt welcomed and provided us with everything that we possibly could need. They even gave us with a bag of cookies for the wild deer, which I thought was really nice of them to do!
This Noborioji Hotel Nara Review, cannot be complete without mentioning the WiFi since that’s something that many people want to know. The WiFi worked well throughout the whole hotel. We tried it in the gym, in the restaurant, by the reception and up in our room, and we had no problem what so ever to stay connected.
Noborioji Hotel Nara has the ideal location if you want to explore the city, but at the same time be close to Nara Park where you can say hello to the wild deer.
We really enjoyed the location since it was close to the bus/train station (where you can get to different attractions in the city), to shopping, restaurants, and the park where you can meet the deer, see temples and enjoy nature.
For me, in this city, the location can’t be better than this.
