Verina Astra is a beautiful hotel located along the cost of Sifnos in Greece. It’s said to be one of the best and most beautiful hotels on the island, which is something I can agree with.
Here they have beautiful rooms and suites, an amazing view over the ocean, delicious food, and super friendly staff that will make your stay unforgettable.

First impression
First time stepping my foot into Verina Astra I was so amazed by how beautiful it was. It’s located in a calm area of Sifnos surrounded by nature and a breathtaking view over the blue ocean.
We arrived quite early at the hotel, and our room wasn’t finished, so the staff offered us something to drink while waiting – which was our first good impression with the staff.
Sitting there, with this view while listening to the sound of the chirping birds with an ice cold frappe in my hand – that was a moment I’ll never forget.
I felt so relaxed, and happy that we had made our way to this beautiful island and hotel.
Our room (The Pegasus Suite)
We stayed in the Pegasus Suite, which is a 45 sqm suite with a living room, bedroom, bathroom, and a big veranda with an amazing view over the ocean.
In the living room you have a sofa, a desk and a minibar. The bedroom features a comfortable bed with fluffy pillows, closet, and an en-suite bathroom with shower.
On the veranda there’s a covered dining space and lounge chairs for you to relax in during your stay.
Everything was great about this room. It was comfortable, spacious, and very beautiful with its interior. It’s a modern hotel suite, with that greek cozy feeling.

Breakfast at Verina Astra
You have your breakfast at Verina Astra’s restaurant where you can enjoy the ocean view while sipping on your morning coffee.
To your table the staff brings you fresh orange juice, coffee, milk with different kinds of cereal, bread, and jams & marmalades made from local fruits.
In addition to the breakfast that they serve, you can also choose between several dishes on their menu. We tried the dish with eggs and feta cheese one morning, and it was delicious.
You can also sample some goodies from their buffet table, such as homemade energy bars, local cakes and sweets, and different kinds of bread.
In other words, it was a delicious and filling breakfast.
In room breakfast
One thing I love about Verina Astra is that you can choose to have breakfast in your room at no extra charge.
The breakfast is more simple if you decide to have it in your room, but it’s still nice if you feel like having a bit more privacy one morning and enjoy your breakfast at the veranda.
General area + infinity pool
The infinity pool at Verina Astra is the perfect place to spend a whole day. Here there are several sunbeds where you can relax and enjoy the view while sipping on a cold drink.
The view is truly magical from the pool. You can see the beautiful nature of Sifnos, the ocean, as well as the church of Panagia Poulati that’s located right next to the crystal clear waters.
One stair up from the pool, you’ll find the reception. They’re open 24/7, and here you can go if you have any questions about the hotel or island.
Next to the reception is the restaurant. It’s here you’ll have your breakfast in the morning (if not choosing in-room breakfast), but you can also eat lunch and dinner here.

The staff
Another of my favorite things about this hotel is the staff. They’re always friendly and helpful, and will do their utmost to make your stay unforgettable.
Like I mentioned before, it’s someone at the front desk 24/7. So if there’s anything you need, just give them a call from your room or go to the reception and ask – they will do their best to help you!
WiFi
We had a fast and stable WiFi connection in our room, as well at the pool and the other areas of Verina Astra. Whether you need to work, check your social media, or keep contact with your family and friends back home, there will be no problem for that. The WiFi works great!
The location
The location is one thing that makes Verina Astra to such a great hotel. It’s located in Poulati in a calm area where you can enjoy the sound of the wind and birds. It’s truly a unique and relaxing location in Sifnos.
There are a few hiking paths that you can take from the hotel that will lead you to the church of Panagia Poulati and the village of Kastro. It’s also possible to walk to the capital of Apollonia by foot. It’s a nice stroll through nature and beautiful villages with the iconic white washed houses.

Summary of our stay at Verina Astra
We had such a wonderful time at Verina Astra in Sifnos. We were welcomed by the the staff, and during our stay they looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed.
They really made us feel welcome, which is something I appreciate in a hotel.
The food was good. I like that they serve homemade foods at the breakfast, and that most of the ingredients they use come from the island.
Not forget to mention the location, infinity pool, and the magical views. It’s just a few of the things that makes Verina Astra to one of the best hotels in Sifnos.
I cannot recommend you enough to stay at this beautiful hotel. Here you truly get value for your money!
