Into the lush nature of Phuket, that’s where you’ll find the amazing Keemala Resort. Keemala is definitely one of the most unique resort’s that I’ve ever stayed at, and not forget, one of the friendliest and coziest.
Keemala gives you a real luxury experience, at the same time as you get that local experience in the lush nature of Thailand. Here you stay and sleep in clay or wooden cottages with all a unique and beautiful design. Every villa and cottage have its own personality, and I must say that it was that beautiful, that I want the interior in my future home to be inspired by the Keemala Resort.
Together with Small Luxury Hotels, we stayed 2 nights at the Keemala Resort – but we wished that we could stay forever. Read more about my amazing experience from the Keemala Resort down below!

Room Standard (Tent Pool Villa)
At the Keemala Resort in Phuket, we had the Tent Pool Villa, which was a dream to stay in. The famous Bird’s Nest Villa’s were unfortunately booked, so we have to come back in the future and stay in one of those! I must say that I’m more than happy about our villa. It was so incredibly beautiful and had everything we needed and more. I can’t really decide what I liked the most about our villa because everything was so great – and I’m not exaggerating.
When you arrive at the villa, the first thing you’ll see is the outdoor terrace and pool (yes you have your own terrace and pool!!) From the terrace, you enter the bedroom where you have a big canopy bed in the middle of the room, a desk and lots of space for you to put your stuff during your stay. It’s in the bedroom that you’ll find the cabinet with the mini-bar and snacks. And why am I telling you this you might wonder? Well, it’s because you can eat and drink as much as you want (except the alcohol) for free!! That’s what I call a great Resort!
From the bedroom, you can enter both the outdoor terrace, the pool, the ”walk-in closet” and the beautiful bathroom. In the closet, you’ll find both slippers, robes, a hairdryer, a beach bag, and hangers. The robe was seriously the comfiest and prettiest robe that I’ve ever had at a hotel, so I’m sad I didn’t ask if I could buy one and bring with me.
There’s also a door from the closet that leads you into the bathroom. The bathroom was probably one of my favorite spots in the villa, because of the tub by the floor-to-ceiling windows, door to outdoor shower, and the crazy beautiful interior. It was so beautiful, that I’ve already decided that that’s how my future bathroom will look like haha.
It’s not only from the bedroom that you can step outside to your private pool, you also have a door from the bathroom. Right outside the bathroom door you’ll see two sun beds and in front of them the beautiful infinity pool.
I can’t really say enough how much I loved this villa, but I tried my best! All I can say is that I didn’t want to leave, and I wanted to stay and live there forever.
This is what you get when booking a Tent Pool Villa
Spacious bedroom with comfortable canopy bed with fluffy pillows and soft sheets
Bathroom with tub, shower, outdoor rain shower and free toiletries.
Bathrobes and slippers
Flatscreen TV with premium channels
Docking station for iPhone and Android
MiniBar (everything except the alcohol is free)
The breakfast isn’t included in the price of the villas, but you can either pay extra for the breakfast buffet or choose something from the menu. There is good food in the breakfast buffet, but if you want something more specific, then you might consider something from the menu. I had the smoothie bowl each morning, and also some waffles with fresh fruits. For drinks, I had café latte and I also tried different kinds of healthy drinks, and I liked all of them!
The waffles weren’t my favorite breakfast dish (because I don’t really like sweet foods in the morning), but the smoothie bowl was super delicious! Can highly recommend you to try that one when you stay here.
Outside the room
Around the Keemala Resort, you’ll find great facilities for you to use. There’s a gym, a spa, a big pool, bars, a restaurant, a library, a souvenir shop and also the tree house lounge where you can sit back and relax to the beautiful view.
During our stay we got the honor to go on a tour around the resort. We got to see the other rooms (except the famous Birds Nest Villa that was fully booked), their garden where they grow organic veggies and fruits that they use in their food, the hanging bridge, and we also got to learn some things about the hotel.
One of the things that I really liked about this hotel is that they grow organic food and use in their meals. I also appreciated that they had saved the animals on their grounds from slaughter and bad homes – thumbs up for that Keemala Resort!
We had dinner every night at the resort since the food was so good. The first night we had a mix of Thai and Indian food, and I must say that everything was delicious. Our second night we tried their famous Himalayan Salt Brick dishes – Alex had the lamb, and I had the tiger prawns. This was seriously one of the best and most tasty meals that I’ve ever had. The meat and seafood had amazing flavors from the salt brick and the amazing this was that the meat was only seasoned with salt and pepper.
So if you decide to eat at their restaurant during your stay (which I recommend you to do), try one of the Himalayan Salt Brick dishes!
And for drinks, you have to try their Butterfly Mojito, which is a delicious Mocktail! Yummy!
Our second day at the resort we went to the spa to get a Thai Herbal Bath and a Harmonising Massage. Their Harmonising Massage is an oil massage, and it makes you feel so relaxed during the treatment and afterward. I actually fell asleep the last 10 minutes because I felt so relaxed haha.
Except for their Harmonising massage, I know that they offer other styles of massages such as Traditional Thai Massage and Deep Tissue Massage. Other from massages they also offer treatments such as facials, body scrub, organic rituals, pedicures, and manicures.
I loved the staff at the Keemala Resort. Everyone was so friendly and said hello all the time, and you also got picked-up / dropped-off by your villa with a buggy whenever you wanted. The service is excellent at this resort, and I can guarantee that you’re going to feel like a King/Queen.
And, I must say that Chef Poonsak is one of the friendliest persons that I’ve ever met. Every evening he walks up to the guest’s tables and gives his best recommendations and tell some information about the food. He’s always smiling and makes you feel even more welcome to the Keemala Resort. I have a bunch of favorite persons that I’ve met during my travels, and he’s definitely one of them!
The WiFi worked great throughout the whole resort.
Keemala Resort is located away from all the touristy areas of Phuket, which is one of the best things about this place. You’re staying up in the higher altitudes of Phuket and are surrounded by lush nature. If you’re looking for walking distance to nightlife and shopping, then this is not the place for you. But if you’re looking for a luxurious and relaxing stay for a couple of days a bit more remote from all of that – then it’s a must for you to stay at the Keemala Resort!
Summary of my stay at the Keemala Resort
This is seriously the best Resort that I’ve ever stayed at – with no doubts what so ever. The service is always on top, the food is one of the best I’ve ever had, the people working there are so friendly, they have everything you possibly could need for a relaxing vacation, and you’re always surrounded by beautiful environments.
I couldn’t feel more relaxed during and after my stay at the beautiful Keemala Resort, and I hope to come back soon again and experience one of their other villas!
