Table of Contents
Stroll around in Markthalle 9
If you’re like me and love food, then you’re going to love this place. A lovely food market that serves food from all over the world. Here you can eat local food, Egyptian street food and also vegan burgers, yummy! In addition to that, the market also sells products that you can bring home.
My best tip before going to this market: Come here hungry!
Visit Tempelhof Freiheit Park
If you have more than just a couple of days in Berlin, then I recommend you to visit Tempelhof Freiheit Park. A park for different activities, that many locals and tourist like to visit when the weather allows. Go inline skating, kite surfing with a skateboard, dragon flying, have a BBQ with your friends or enjoy a nice picnic while watching the lively environment.
In this park, there’s so much to do and see – for both you and your family or friends!
Explore Berliner Unterwelten
If you’re interested in Berlin’s history, then you have to visit Berliner Unterwelten. Come along on a guided tour that will show you a different side of the city where you’ll discover Berlin’s buried history. Walk through various tunnels and bunkers and see how many German people had to live during WW2.
Stop by the Brandenburg Gate
Brandenburg Gate, the signature attraction of Berlin, was built in 1791 and is today a must-go spot for all photographers. The gate dates back 300 years and has played different kinds of roles in the history of Berlin. It’s been a symbol of peace, war, victory, terror and war during those years – and since 1989 it’s been a symbol for the reunification of Germany.
Spend your Sunday in Mauerpark
Every Sunday a big market is held in Berlin’s Mauerpark. During this day, the park is filled with different kind of flea markets, street stalls, and a fantastic atmosphere. Here you will find new decor, second-hand clothing and everything in between. Since the market also offers food stalls, you can easily spend a couple of hours here shopping, eating local food and drinking beer.
Walk the Berlin Wall
One of the best things to do in Berlin is to visit the famous Berlin Wall. This wall plays a major part of the city’s history, and a visit will both be interesting and educational. Today there’s several parts left of the wall where there are numerous signs with information explaining about the wall and it’s history.
The Berlin Wall is a classical sight in Berlin and a must among the top things to do in Berlin while you’re in town!
Visit Berlin’s several museums
Believe it or not, but Berlin has a total of 200 museums!! You seriously find museums for all different kinds of interests. The most famous museum you’ll find at the Museum Island where they mostly display valuable historical artifacts.
A visit to the Museum of Natural History is also a must; here you can see the world’s largest mounted dinosaur skeleton – which is pretty cool!
Visit the TV Tower ”Fernsehturm”
If you’re looking for the best view over Berlin, then this the place for you. From the observation deck of the TV tower, you’ll be greeted by a breathtaking view over the city, where you can see up to 42 kilometers a clear day.
